What's ORP?
Have you ever wondered the artistic journey of a player turned team member in Origin Realms? Well Kio is your guy! After a long holiday in the fiery hellscape of the nether and a lot of black hair dye, Kio was picked up by the OR team and is now the creator of some of your favorite OR Items!
Artiro: “Since your recent addition to the OR Staff being a team member, has this change in anyway impacted how you interact with the community e.g. unable to talk in social chat as often, work on fan projects or work on ORP”
Kio: “I’ll say it definitely has. I rarely talk in public chats as often as I did before, or work on fan projects like ORP- it seems I just don’t have the motivation at the moment. No that doesn’t mean they’re cancelled, just on hold until I feel like jumping back on the saddle with them”
Artiro: “Do you have any tips for aspiring pixel artists? Or any insights on the methods you use to create your pixel art?”
Kio: “I looked up to Endergized as a great artist before I became a staff member, and still do. I improved greatly just by taking inspiration from him and getting tips from others. Inspiration is good, and I use it a lot when making my pixel art. Now copying pixel for pixel is a different story, but inspiration helps you get creative as well as helps you improve. Its how I did personally”
Artiro: “As of this interview what have you made for origin realms?”
Kio: “I’ve made a few things so far, my first contribution being the April Fools Day UFO. After that, I made the Plant Jar and the Earth Painting for Earth Day. Currently only a few, but I’m excited to do some more things for the server”
Artiro: “We all know of your famous renders, that you would sell during events. Is there a potential for them to return in the near future”
Kio: “Modeling was a big part of me back before I was a team member, and its how I got into 3D art entirely. I would say that pixel art overshadowed my old rendering skills, but to completely forget about it doesn’t seem right. I even wanted to use modeling to contribute to the server, but decided to build pixel art skills instead. But anyways, I may get back onto modeling again soon. I miss making little renders for the community”
